Duct Modifications

Not every comfort problem requires a whole new duct system. We modify existing ductwork — re-routing, resizing, extending and adding runs — to fix rooms that don’t cool properly and to adapt your system to remodels and layout changes.

What We Do

We find where airflow is falling short, then change the duct system to fix it: adding or relocating supplies and returns, resizing undersized runs, extending ducts to new spaces and correcting poor connections.

What the Service Involves

• Diagnosis of the airflow problem and inspection of the existing duct layout
• A clear plan for which runs to add, relocate, resize or remove
• Re-routing ducts around remodel and layout changes
• Extending the system into additions or converted spaces
• Adding returns to improve circulation and reduce pressure problems
• Sealing and insulating all new connections
• Rebalancing airflow after the work is completed

What to Expect

Targeted work that solves the specific problem without replacing more than necessary. For remodels, we coordinate timing with your general contractor so changes are made while walls and ceilings are open.

When You May Need This Service

• A room is always hotter than the rest of the house
• Remodeling, moving walls or relocating the kitchen or bath
• Converting a garage or adding a room
• Weak airflow or noisy vents
